Notice of Midyear Budget Committee Meeting, Executive Session, and Special Meeting

The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a special meeting to meet with SUB’s Budget Committee on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., immediately prior to its 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to give SUB’s Budget Committee a midyear budget update and review including midyear financials, categories of capital projects, preliminary 10-year cash flow projections, rate increase projections for 2022-2031, working capital reserves, and information showing how SUB is doing year-to-date with its budget, and a prognosis for the 2023 budget year.

The Springfield Utility Board also plans to meet in a non-public executive session, if needed, pursuant to ORS 40.225, ORS 192.660(2)(e), and ORS 192.660(2)(h); attorney-client privilege, to conduct deliberations with persons designated by the governing body to negotiate real property transactions, and to consult with counsel concerning legal rights and duties with regard to pending or potential litigation. This meeting is to be held on Wednesday, August 10, and is planned to commence at approximately 7:30 p.m., following conclusion of the 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting. Please note: should the Board not need to meet in executive session, the Board may cancel by consensus.

SUB’s Board has also scheduled a special meeting, if needed, on Wednesday, August 10. This meeting is open to the public and is planned to commence at approximately 8:00 p.m., following conclusion of the 7:30 p.m. executive session. The purpose of this meeting is for potential Board action following executive session.

Members of the public are invited to join the open session meetings remotely via phone or internet, or in-person in SUB's Board Room located in the Annex Building at 223 A Street in Springfield. Prior to the meeting, a detailed agenda will be available on SUB’s website at www.subutil.com with instructions to join remotely. Public comment may also be submitted to the Board in advance by Noon on August 10, by using the email link also provided on the agenda.
