The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Friday, September 9 beginning at 11 am, in effect until 11 pm Saturday. SUB is aware that other utilities in our area are proactively shutting off power. We are monitoring our system and weather conditions, and currently do not have plans to turn off power.
This could change if conditions change.
Note that SUB’s system is largely urban, allowing us the ability to make decisions as conditions change. Please use this time to prepare for a possible outage as we cannot guarantee advance notice. Have flashlights and a battery-powered radio handy, and charge your personal devices. If you rely on power for health needs, please prepare now for the possibility of being without power.
We understand the disruption that Public Safety Power Shut-offs cause customers. They are a last resort, and used only to keep customers safe from catastrophic wildfire. Thank you for your understanding.
