Proposal to amend SUB policy related to water system development charges

The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, during its 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting on two proposed Ordinances amending Chapter 5 – Water, Section 1 – Connections to Service, of the Springfield Utility Board policies, as related to fire service and usage policies for fire suppression water systems, by amending Section 5-1-1 – Development/Redevelopment Charges, and by adding new Section 5-1-7 – Fire Service Use.

The public is invited to attend the public hearing in-person, or remotely via phone or internet. Instructions to join remotely will be available on the agenda posted to SUB’s website, prior to the meeting. Members of the public joining remotely will be prompted for comment at the appropriate time during the meeting for general comments, as well as during the public hearing for input to the Board. The public may also submit public comment in advance via email to subboard@subutil.com by Noon, July 14.

Proposed purchase and sale agreement by and between EWEB and SUB

The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, during its 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting on a proposed Purchase and Sale Agreement by and between the Eugene Water & Electric Board, a municipal utility of the City of Eugene, and the City of Springfield, acting by and through the Springfield Utility Board.

The real properties involved for potential purchase and sale are known as Map Identification 18 03 03 40, Tax Lot Number 300, Map Identification 18 03 03 14, Tax Lot Numbers 1000 and 1100. The transaction also involves sale and reservation of various easements benefiting Map Identification 18 03 03 13, Tax Lot Number 101, Map Identification 18 03 03 14, Tax Lot Numbers 1000 and 1100, Map Identification 18 03 03 40, Tax Lot Numbers 300 and 700, and burdening Tax Lot Numbers 300, 1000, and 1100, for potential electric transmission and distribution facilities, water transmission and distribution facilities, fiber and telecommunication facilities, and access easements thereto. A potential access easement across Map Identification 18 03 03 13, Tax Lot 101 is also included in the proposed transaction.

The SUB Board states that the proposed uses of the properties will be for the purposes stated above. The SUB Board considers it necessary to enter into the Purchase and Sale Agreement in order to conduct the uses on the properties, as stated above.
