The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a public hearing during its virtual regular board meeting on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at approximately 6:00 p.m. to allow public comment on a proposal to further modify the approved increase to SUB’s electric utility rates. The Board may take action to further delay the effective date of SUB electric utility rates by Resolution of the Board.

At the April 8,2020, board meeting, the Board took action to delay the effective billing date of the 1.25 percent approved increase to electric rates from April 1, 2020, for all billing statements rendered on or after May 1, 2020; to July 1, 2020, on all bill statements rendered on or after August 1, 2020; and thereafter until further resolution of the Board.

The Board will also consider taking action on a proposed revision to current Board Policies regarding Advance Engineering Fee as related to water distribution infrastructure. The public is invited to comment.

Due to COVID-19 precautions and to ensure safe public meetings, the regular board meeting will be held as a virtual meeting. The public is encouraged to join the regular board meeting via phone or internet, by following instructions that will be available on SUB’s website prior to the meeting.

If joining the regular board meeting virtually, the public will be prompted for comment at the appropriate times during the meeting. The public may also submit public comment in advance, to be entered into the record, via email to subboard@subutil.com by Noon on Wednesday, July 8.
