The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a special meeting to meet with SUB’s Budget Committee on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to allow a midyear budget review including midyear financials, categories of capital projects, preliminary 10-year cash flow projections, rate increase projections for 2025-2034, working capital reserves, how SUB is doing year-to-date with its budget, and a prognosis for the 2025 budget year.
Please Note Change in Time: The Springfield Utility Board has changed the start time of its regular board meeting on August 14, from its usual start time of 6:00 p.m. to a start time of 6:30 p.m. The reason for this time change is to allow the Budget Committee sufficient time for its midyear review.
The Board will also hold a non-public executive session on August 14, at approximately 7:30, immediately following the conclusion of the 6:30 p.m. regular board meeting. The executive session will be held pursuant to ORS 40.225, ORS 192.660(2)(e), and ORS 192.660(2)(f): attorney-client privilege; to conduct deliberations with persons designated by the governing body to negotiate real property transactions; and to consider information or records that are exempt by law from public inspection, including written advice from attorneys.
The meetings will be held in SUB’s Board Room located in the Annex Building at 223 A Street, Suite F, in Springfield. Members of the public are invited to join the 5:00 p.m. special meeting and the 6:30 p.m. regular board meeting in-person or remotely via phone or internet. Instructions to join remotely will be posted on the agenda prior to the meeting on SUB’s website under Board Meetings. Public comment to the Board on general utility issues is welcome and encouraged during the Business from the Audience portion of the 6:30 p.m. regular board meeting. The public may also submit comment in advance by Noon on August 14, by using the email link provided on the agenda.
