Notice of Public Hearings on Proposed Amendment to Electric Development Charges and on Proposed Amendment to Water Development Charges

The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to SUB Electric Construction Development Charge policies to provide for an adjustment of the minimum connection charge to $2,500 with a proposed effective date of July 1, 2024.

The Springfield Utility Board also plans to hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to SUB Water Development Charge policies to provide for an adjustment in existing water development charges of 2.6 percent (2.6%) with a proposed effective date of October 1, 2024, in accordance with existing methodology. There is no change in the methodology.

The Board is expected to consider taking action on Resolution 24-4 to adopt amendment to Chapter 4 - Electric of the Springfield Utility Board policies regarding Construction Development Charges, and on Resolution 24-5 to adopt amendment to Chapter 5 - Water, of the Springfield Utility Board policies regarding Development Charges.

The public hearings will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, during its 6:00 p.m. regular board meeting in SUB’s Board Room located in the Annex Building at 223 A Street in Springfield.

The public is invited to join the regular board meeting in-person or remotely via phone or internet and will be prompted to share general utility comments during Business from the Audience. Members of the public will also be prompted during the public hearings to share input to the Board. An agenda will be available on the website at www.subutil.com with instructions to join prior to the meeting. Public comment may also be submitted in advance by Noon on June 12, to be entered into the record by using the email link provided on the agenda.
