The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a special meeting to meet with SUB’s Budget Committee on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., immediately prior to its 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to give SUB’s Budget Committee a midyear budget update and review including midyear financials, categories of capital projects, preliminary 10-year cash flow projections, rate increase projections for 2024-2033, working capital reserves, and information showing how SUB is doing year-to-date with its budget, and a prognosis for the 2024 budget year.
The Springfield Utility Board also plans to meet in a non-public executive session pursuant to ORS 40.225, ORS 192.660(2)(e), ORS 192.660(2)(f), and ORS 192.660(2)(h): attorney-client privilege; to conduct deliberations with persons designated by the governing body to negotiate real property transactions; to consider information or records that are exempt by law from public inspection, including written advice from attorneys; and to consult with counsel concerning legal rights and duties with regard to pending or potential litigation. This executive session is to be held on Wednesday, August 9, and is planned to commence at approximately 7:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting.
Members of the public are invited to join the Budget Committee midyear update meeting remotely via phone or internet, or in-person in SUB's Board Room located in the Annex Building at 223 A Street in Springfield. Prior to the meeting, a detailed agenda will be available on SUB’s website at www.subutil.com with instructions to join remotely. Public comment may also be submitted to the Board in advance by Noon on August 9, by using the email link also provided on the agenda.
