The Springfield Utility Board plans to hold a special meeting to meet with SUB’s Budget Committee on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., prior to its 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to provide SUB’s Budget Committee with a midyear budget update. This will include midyear financials, an overview of capital project categories, preliminary 10-year cash flow projections, rate projections for 2025–2034, working capital reserves, year-to-date budget performance, and a preliminary outlook for the 2026 budget year.
The Springfield Utility Board also plans to meet in a non-public executive session pursuant to ORS 40.225, ORS 192.660(2)(e), ORS 192.660(2)(f), and ORS 192.660(2)(h): attorney-client privilege; to conduct deliberation with persons designated by the governing body to negotiate real property transactions; to consider information or records that are exempt by law from public inspection, including written advice from attorneys; and to consult with counsel concerning the legal rights and duties of a public body with regard to pending or potential litigation. This executive session is to be held on August 13, and is to commence at approximately 7:30 p.m., immediately following the conclusion of the 6:00 p.m. regular Board meeting.
SUB’s Board also plans to meet in a special meeting, if needed, on August 13, at approximately 8:00 p.m., immediately following the conclusion of the executive session. The purpose of this meeting is to allow time for any Board action that may result from the executive session. If no action is necessary, the meeting may be canceled.
Members of the public are invited and encouraged to join the Midyear Budget Committee Update and Regular Board Meeting either in person or remotely via phone or internet. The in-person meeting will be held in SUB's Board Room, located in the Annex Building at 223 A Street in Springfield. Public comments may also be submitted in advance by Noon on August 13 using the email link provided on the agenda.
