8:00 a.m. update
Water service is in the process of being restored to affected customers.
- Water continues to be safe to use and drink
- If you experience cloudy or discolored water, run a faucet for a few minutes until the water runs clear. One faucet is sufficient. This is for cosmetic reasons only, there are no health concerns.

6:15 a.m. update
Crews have completed overnight repairs and SUB is currently flushing water lines. We anticipate normal water service should return by 8 a.m. and that traffic control measures will be removed by early afternoon. Thank you!
12:30 a.m. update
Crews will continue to work on repairs throughout the night.
August 29 -
7:15 pm -- SUB water crews are working to contain a main break near 5th and Q Streets in Springfield. Affected areas are between 5th Street and 10th Street on Q Street and between Q and T Streets along 5th Street.
The leak has slowed as crews continue to work to isolate the issue.
Customers may notice lower water pressure. The water remains safe to use and drink.
Please note that traffic on southbound 5th Street between T and Q has been moved to the center lane. We ask that people please use alternate routes if possible.
There is no cause identified as yet and no ETA for the completed repair. SUB will provide updates as we have them. Thank you for your patience!
