Water Heater Flushing

If you are experiencing curious odors or tastes in your water not related to chlorine, your home’s hot water heater is the first place to look.

Under the right conditions, a hot water tank can provide an ideal environment for certain kinds of heat-resistant bacteria to grow. Some strains can smell like rotten eggs.

More information about this issue can be found here. If you are experiecing this problem in your home, SUB recommends flushing the hot water heater.

If you have questions about this or other water quality concerns, please contact SUB’s Water Service Center.
