Road To Close Temporarily for Water Infrastructure Improvements

A contractor for Springfield Utility Board will begin construction on an underground water pipeline in 4th Street between South A Street and B Street this Monday.
To accommodate the project, 4th Street will be closed in several locations over the next six weeks.
The pipeline project is necessary to provide water for the fire sprinkler system at the new Springfield Justice Center and to increase SUB’s ability to move large quantities of water throughout the system during high demand periods and emergencies.
Residents and businesses in the area should not see any disruption in their water service.
