Duct Testing and Sealing

Studies show the average duct system loses 20% to 40% of its heating energy through leaks. Springfield Utility Board’s duct testing and sealing program is designed to increase comfort and provide energy savings to SUB customers at minimal or no cost.

This program is available for manufactured and site built homes that heat with an electric forced air furnace or heat pump system.  Customers with gas heated homes are not eligible. Please contact us at 541-746-0963 for more information.

Ducted Heat Pumps

Get a 0% interest loan or $500 rebate to help pay for the purchase of an energy-efficient heat pump. Heat pumps are 2-3 times more efficient than electric furnaces, and can save you money over time. Call 746-0963 for more information, or view and download the appropriate forms:

Ductless Heat Pumps
Help reduce your heating costs by obtaining a 0% interest loan or a $800 rebate to help pay for the purchase of an energy-efficient ductless heat pump. Ductless heat pumps are 2 to 3 times more efficient than electric resistance zonal heating (i.e. ceiling heat, electric wall heaters). Call 541-746-0963 for more information, or view and download the appropriate forms:

Please note – As of April 1, 2013 site built single family homes AND manufactured homes that are currently heated by an electrically fueled forced air system could now qualify for SUB’s Ductless Heat Pump Program.  Please call 541-746-0963 for more detailed information.

Insulation Rebates and Loans

SUB offers a 0% interest loan or a 50% rebate on the cost of insulating the walls, ceiling and floor of your home. To qualify, SUB will conduct an energy analysis, recommend improvements, help you through the loan or rebate process and then inspect the completed work. In addition, for income-qualified customers, SUB offers a 100% rebate on insulation. Call 541-746-0963 for more information or view and download the appropriate forms:

Window Weatherization

Zero percent loans (up to $4,000) are available for qualifying SUB customers who install energy efficient windows.  Customers must have permanently installed electric heat, and must have a fully insulated home. Call 746-0963 for information or view and download the appropriate forms:
