Looking for the best 4th of July event to attend this year?

Then ditch your street shoes, dig out your flip flops and head to Island Park this July 4th for Light of Liberty: Springfield’s best summertime party.

Now in its tenth year, Light of Liberty is a fundraiser featuring music, food, family fun – and, of course, a fabulous fireworks show set to music and reflected over the scenic Willamette River.

The headline act will be Country Music legend Marty Stuart

Marty Stuart is a five time GRAMMY-winner, platinum recording artist, Grand Ole Opry star, country music archivist, Southern culture historian, photographer, musician, songwriter, TV show host, charismatic force of nature, and country music fan.

Also performing will be Blues and Jazz powerhouse Deb Cleveland Band and Springfield's classic Rock house band Mystery Train.

At the event, Kids will have plenty to do when they visit our Kid Nation. Check out crafts, face painting, a great snake exhibit, balloons, magic shows, glow toys, hula hoop demonstrations, and more!

Tickets on sale beginning June 24th at SUB's Main office at 250 A Street. Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the gate. Kids 5 and under are free. As a thank you, tickets are free for all Springfield veterans and families of active Springfield military personnel (spouse and children, up to four tickets). ID required for free military tickets.

All proceeds benefit Project Share, a fund that helps low- and fixed-income Springfielders with wintertime heating emergencies. So come, have a great time, and know that your dollars are helping those in need!

Limited handicapped parking will be available near the B street entrance on a first-come basis.
