Ditch your street shoes, dig out your flip flops and head to Island Park this July 4th for Light of Liberty: Springfield’s best summertime party.

This year, SUB and its corporate sponsors are proud to welcome the legendary 60's pop band, Herman's Hermits, starring Peter Noone. Their hits include:

I’m Henry VIII, I Am

In all, Herman’s Hermits sold over sixty million recordings with fourteen singles and seven albums going gold. Accompanied by his band and boasting a compelling stage presence, Noone consistently plays to sold-out venues the World over.

Opening for Herman's Hermits will be the award-winning local Blues and Soul group, Michael Tracey and the Hi-Tones, plus Rock n' Roll cover band Mystery Train.

Now in its sixth year, Light of Liberty is a fundraiser featuring music, food, family fun – and, of course, a fabulous fireworks show set to music and reflected over the scenic Willamette River.

Kids will have plenty to do when they visit our Kid Nation, sponsored by Jerry’s Home Improvement Center. Check out crafts, face painting, a great snake exhibit, magic shows, gymnastics demonstrations, and more!

Tickets for this day full of fun are just $5 in advance (starting June 23rd) and $7 at the door. Pick up advance tickets at SUB’s main office in downtown Springfield, or at Jerry’s Home Improvement Center at their Eugene and Springfield locations. As always, kids five and younger are free. As a show of support to our military, tickets are also free for Springfield veterans, as well as active duty Springfield military personnel, their spouses and children. These tickets are available at SUB in advance, or at the main gate on event day. Be sure to bring current military ID.

All proceeds benefit Project Share, a fund that helps low- and fixed-income Springfielders with wintertime heating emergencies. So come, have a great time, and know that your dollars are helping those in need!
