About SUB: Board Bios
SUB's services are provided under the direction of five Springfield citizens who are elected to four-year terms and serve without pay. Rates, policies, and procedures for each of SUB's services are formulated and adopted by the Board. These policies are on file at SUB's main office and are available for public review.

Bobbie Jean Adams, Vice-Chair
Position #5, Term expires 12/31/2012
Bobbie Jean has long been a resident of Springfield, graduating from Springfield High (the last graduating class in the old building, and Bobbie was on the Board for relocating the high school). Bobbie has served on the Lane County Board for Senior Citizens, and serves on the Board of the First Christian Church of Springfield. Bobbie supported her husband, former Board Member Bob Adams during his 18 years on the SUB Board, before she started serving on the SUB Board herself in 2001. She has 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
Virginia Lauritsen

Position #2, Term expires 12/31/2014
A native of Springfield, Virginia's career in law took her away from the area for twenty years. Over those years, she has held titles such as Contracts Engineer, In-House Counsel, Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer. Having returned to her home, Virginia's interest in environmental science and natural resources, plus her business and law background, led her to serve on Springfield's Drinking Water Protection Task Force. In 1999, Virginia took on a new title – member of the SUB Board of Directors.

Theodore L. Johnson, D.M.D.
Position #3, Term expires: 12/31/2014
Dr. Ted Johnson has served on the Board since September 1997. A resident of Springfield for sixty years, Dr. Johnson has practiced dentistry in Springfield since 1959. He has been actively involved in his community and has been appointed to numerous Boards. He has served on the Springfield School Board and the Willamalane Budget Committee, and he currently sits on the Springfield Museum Board. He has also been a long-time member of the Springfield Lions Club.
Joe Mathieu

Position #1, Term expires 12/31/2012
Joe and his wife Julie moved to Springfield in 1991, after his retirement. During his business career, he was a financial executive for Chicago-area firms; he also held an elected position as a Library Board Trustee. Joe and Julie chose Springfield for a variety of reasons, including closer proximity to family living in Oregon. Julie, who died in 1999, was an author of award-winning children's books. Since his 1991 appointment, Joe continues to serve on the City's CDAC Block Grant Committee; his recent civic service includes two years on the Springfield Library Board and three years on the Springfield Budget Committee. After serving on SUB's Budget Committee, Joe was appointed to SUB's Board of Directors in July of 1998, to fill a vacancy. In November 1998, he was elected to the position. Joe's financial background is consistent with SUB's focus on affordable rates, quality customer care, and reliable service.
