Springfield Utility Board

SUB is a full-service utility offering a wealth of programs and services to its customers. It is also well known for its conservative fiscal management, which allows it to provide these services while keeping rates affordable. In fact, SUB’s electric rates are consistently the lowest or close to the lowest among all utilities serving Lane County. SUB’s water rates are extremely competitive, too.

There’s no one action SUB takes that keeps rates low. Instead, the prevailing philosophy at the utility, from the Board of Directors to the General Manager and across all levels of staff, is to consider the impact expenditures and decisions will have on utility rates. Saving the customer money is definitely on the minds of all SUB employees!
